Seed blog by USDA

I wish I could
Leave this place
And go back
To my one true home

Too bad that’s never gonna happen
And you’ll have to swallow me
The way I’ve been swallowing you

Don’t you think I’m gonna crumble and whither
I’m going to dig deep, yes
Grow under and through
This nasty soil of yours

But I’m gonna live
Try all you might
To stifle me
I’m gonna grow

Your rocks will test
The flexibility of my roots
Your poison
Will only make my antidote stronger
Your dryness
Is gonna fill my juicyness
I’ll suck all your crap
And turn it to lovely flowers

Laugh all you want
Of a small seed like me
But I’ll laugh last
When I become the tallest tree

Never ending

Circles by Susanne Nilsson

We are all broken-hearted beings
Foolishly trying to live life
As if nothing bad had ever happened to us
Yet desperately trying to fill
That deep dark void in our souls

We wear masks and armor
We hide our true selves
At the same time
We long for connection
We dream of speaking the truth

Living these empty lives
We only further that deep dark void
Inside ourselves and our loved ones

I hurt
So I hurt others
So I hurt
So I hurt others

A never ending cycle of pain

Paradise in Gold

Paradise in Gold

Markers on paper, 2013.

This is the last drawing of my golden landscapes series.

It was inspired by this song, one of the results of the Virtual Choir 4, which had nearly 6,000 singers, including yours truly (singing soprano 2 and alto 1 parts)! =)

Look by Nick Page

Look down
See the reality
Feel the security
Learn to take flight

Look up
See the possibility
Feel the freedom
Learn to come back

Look back
See the past
Feel the sorrow
Learn to let go

Look ahead
See the future
Feel the hope
Learn to make happen

Fire by Mark Turner

There is a burning fire inside
One that I’ve never learned to tame
I was taught to fear and hide
And not to grow this flame

Cool and collected on the outside
Warm and fiery on the inside

Not knowing what to do with this flame
Not wanting to cause another pain
I transformed this fire into blame
Pointed at my own self, time and again

But now I’m sick and tired!
Instead of softly speaking I want to spit fire!

Let the flame rise!
Let the fire burn!
I want to hear their cries!
Now it’s my turn!

Watch as I ignite!
For too long I’ve been turned off
Now I’ve finally come alight!

Pen on paper, 2013.

Continuing with the idea of more “loose” drawings, this one is loosely inspired by Japanese brushstrokes.

Fairytale cozy cottage by Fiona in Eden

Words come out from me
Like smoke from a chimney
Softly, silently, camly
Revolving on themselves

Sometimes they stumble upon each other
One more desperate to escape to the world than the other

Sometimes they are so confused and worried
That none will come out and say anything

Sometimes there’s only silence
Sometimes silence is all there is

I dream of a world filled with words
Of kindness, love, wisdom and hope

These are soft, slowly whispered words
Like faint white smoke rising from a chimney

But soft words are the strongest of all
